OVERVIEW & OBJECTIVE
The ZΦB Executive Wall Plaques were created as a custom recognition collection honoring the Rho Alpha Zeta Chapter Executive Board 2023–2025.
Commissioned by Dr. Erica Lewis as a gift to her graduate chapter, the project transformed chapter identity, personalization, and symbolic pearl detailing into a polished physical object that could be presented, held, mounted, and displayed.
Strategy: Create a unified recognition collection for chapter leadership.
Design: Combine chapter identity, pearl symbolism, and personalized names.
Production: Fabricate twelve consistent wall-mountable plaques.
Design Development
The design direction focused on creating a recognition piece that felt polished, ceremonial, and personal while remaining clean enough for long-term professional display.
The challenge was combining graduate chapter identity, executive board recognition, personalized recipient names, symbolic pearl detailing, and wall-mounted functionality into one cohesive object.
sketch
The project began with a rough consultation sketch that established the early direction for layout, proportion, color placement, personalization, and display structure.
Concept Option
Two plaque directions were explored during the design phase. One version featured raised “Zeta Phi Beta” lettering, while the other featured five raised pearls as the symbolic focal detail.
Selected option
The pearl version was selected as the final direction because it created a cleaner, more symbolic, and more ceremonial recognition piece while preserving strong chapter identity.
Structure, Production & Impact
Each plaque was designed as a dimensional wall piece with raised elements, layered color, personalized naming, and an integrated nail-hanging slot on the back.

Fabrication & Production
A full set of twelve personalized plaques was produced, finished, and prepared for delivery.
Consistency mattered. Each plaque needed to feel part of one unified executive collection while still carrying its own personalized name detail.

Designed to be more than printed objects, each plaque became a physical recognition piece that could be presented, held, displayed, and remembered.
Recognition made tangible.
