OVERVIEW & OBJECTIVE
Metropolis Nashville Souvenir Figures were created as a custom branded keepsake system for Metropolis Parking’s Fifth + Broadway Nashville location.
The project focused on transforming a client-provided “Creative WOW Moment” concept into a finished physical product that could be handed to clients and visitors as a memorable Nashville-inspired souvenir. Each piece was designed to function as a rearview mirror charm while still feeling versatile enough to serve as custom merchandise, a small gift, or a collectible brand touchpoint.
Strategy: Create a tangible branded keepsake connected to the Fifth + Broadway experience.
Design: Translate the cowboy hat and boot concept into recognizable, polished, dimensional mini-figures.
Production: Prototype, refine, batch-manufacture, finish, assemble, package, and deliver 300 units ready for real-world distribution.
Design Development
The design process began with client-provided AI concept visuals showing cowboy hats and boots as miniature rearview mirror keepsakes. Those images established the desired direction, but the final product still needed to be redesigned as a real, physical, manufacturable object.
Excalis translated the original visual idea into a custom sculpted product system by developing the hat and boots from scratch in Nomad Sculpt, refining the forms for recognizability, scale, durability, and production. Once the base forms were resolved, the pieces were prepared for multi-color printing, brand placement, chain attachment, and final batch manufacturing.
The final result preserved the spirit of the original concept while creating a cleaner, more polished, and production-ready souvenir figure system for the Fifth + Broadway Nashville location.
Client Concept
The project began with AI-generated visual references showing the intended use case: cowboy-themed mini-figures designed to hang from a vehicle’s rearview mirror.
Sculpted Form Development
The hat and boots were modeled from scratch in Nomad Sculpt to establish the core silhouettes before branding, color, and final production details were added.
Final Printed Direction
The finished physical pieces translated the original concept into branded, multi-color, production-ready keepsakes with recognizable Nashville-inspired forms.
Build System & Final Impact
Each charm was designed as a dimensional object with enough detail to read clearly at a small scale. The cowboy hat and boot forms needed to feel familiar immediately while still leaving room for brand placement, chain attachment, and multi-color production.
The hat was developed with a built-in hanging loop, raised band detail, and front-facing logo placement. The boot design was created as a connected boot pair, giving the piece more presence while keeping it compact enough for use as a hanging charm.
Key Details:
Sculpted cowboy hat and connected boot-pair forms
Integrated hanging-loop geometry
Raised Metropolis “Two Arrows” logo detail
Multi-color layout designed for visibility
Compact charm scale without losing silhouette clarity
Designed for rearview mirror display and versatile merchandise use
Structure & Detail
The final figures were produced using Excalis’ multi-printer production workflow, including a P1S fleet and X1C support for multi-color FDM manufacturing. Early prototypes were tested on the A1 Mini, while full production moved to larger machines for batch consistency and output speed.
Bambu Studio was used to prepare print files, refine orientation, manage color placement, and adjust ring/chain geometry for reliable assembly. Multi-color printing allowed the pieces to include body color, accent color, logo contrast, and branded details without relying on post-production painting.
After printing, each piece went through deburring, light flame finishing, inspection, metal ball chain installation, and individual packaging.

Production Notes:

Fabrication & Production
The finished project was produced, assembled, packaged, and delivered as a complete branded merchandise system. Each of the 300 charms was individually packaged in a holographic sleeve with a clear front, giving the final product a more polished and giftable presentation.
Beyond the selected final colorways, Excalis also prepared a complimentary sample pack for the client showing the product range, including selected and unselected variations. This created a stronger delivery experience while also supporting future reorder, seasonal, or alternate colorway opportunities.
Consistency mattered across every unit. Each piece needed to feel part of one recognizable product family while still offering visual variety across hats, boots, and colorways.
